SolTrekker "Green" RV will be at RV show in Tacoma

Last year around this time, while searching for our new RV, we saw a Class A motorhome sitting on an RV lot with a really cool wrap on it. It was called the BioTrekker. Intrigued with this rig, we got home and looked up the BioTrekker online, and that was where we learned about Ty Adams and his eco-friendly RV. Being avid RVers into sustainable living, we were all about learning more about Ty and his rig.

When we met Ty, he had just purchased another motor home to convert into his newest creation, the SolTrekker, aka Sunny. Read more about that on the green RVing article post.

With the addition of Sunny, Ty’s green traveling machines now have an east and west coast presence. The BioTrekker rig is being piloted by Michael Wolbach on the east coast and SolTrekker is ready for show on the west coast. It was gutted and rebuilt as eco-friendly as possible. It runs on biodiesel, has a solar powered interior, bamboo walls, new insulation, a solar hot water system, rainwater harvesting system, and much more.

Visit SolTrekker.org to learn more and to watch a video of Ty and “Sunny” as she transforms into a beautiful, sustainable rolling home.

SolTrekker will be on display at the Tacoma RV and Van Show at the Tacoma Expo Center from Oct 2 through Oct 5. For more information visit Tacoma Fall RV Show.

Camping World Sale on RV Covers

Last Christmas, our lovely next door neighbors brought us a plate full of baked holiday goodies. They delivered it on a sturdy plastic holiday penguin plate. They were out of town for the rest of the holidays, so we stalled on giving their plate back. Plus, we didn’t want to give it back empty-handed. Well, it’s September now, and guess where penguin is? In our kitchen cupboard, still.

Last October we bought a brand new, 2008 motor home. One of the first things we said we needed for it was a cover. We decided we would buy one after we took our winter excursion down to Quartzsite. When we returned though, we both forgot about the cover. Every so often we something would remind us that we needed a cover. We put it on our to-do list, and hadn’t gotten around to it.

Last week however, Camping World sent out their annual RV Cover sales alerts, via email and in the mail. There was no denying that we needed to take advantage of these special discounted rates. I’m proud to report that we are now the proud owners of a sturdy, rainy climate protected RV cover. And the whole process was painless! It felt good to finally get something done that has been hovering over us for almost a year. In fact, we’re busily working on our long “to do” list and have gotten several items marked off. And yes, baking something for the neighbors is on this list. It’s time to send penguin back home where he belongs. I better get baking!

For more information on Camping World’s RV cover sale, visit Camping World.com. According to the mailing we received, the sale prices end on October 27.
