Soon after we woke up, we remembered our woes. However, we chose to get an early start on the day and registered our rig at the LTVA visitor center. The host couple gave us some advice about where to get the generator fixed. We drove to RV Lifestyles and the service manager did a quick inspection. He told us we would need a new module, but that he didn’t have the part.
There was only one guy in town that might be able to help us – Bob’s Generators. We promptly called and left Bob a voicemail. We then drove back to set up at a new campsite while we discussed our options.
Since it was the weekend, our best option was to make the best of it while we waited for Bob's return call. Besides, it was a sunny, warm day in the high 50’s. It was a heat wave compared to the weather we left in Portland.
We spent the day wandering in and out of tents, vendor booths, and several of the hundreds of different RVs on display. There is such a vast hodgepodge of vendors selling everything from generators to bungee cords and boxes of old cake mix to rocks and colored glass.

It was warm enough to see long lines for ice cream.
And where else in the world can you find a tent auction where the crowd bids on duct tape and red Twizzlers?
This was fun, but in the back of our minds we knew we still had the generator issue. Generator Bob hadn’t called us back yet; nor did the folks at Onan Generator who would be dealing with the warranty issue.
We tried to find an RV park in Quartzsite that had WIFI and space availability, but to no avail.
We soon realized that we would have to leave town for the week. This was a bummer because our pilgrimage was to Quartzsite, not to "destination unknown."
We were quickly reminded how flexible one must be when RVing. And we quickly realized how much we needed to upgrade some of our computer equipment in order to live the mobile lifestyle we were dreaming of.
The good thing? There was one portion of us that was OK with leaving town for awhile. The portion that didn’t enjoy the rainy weather that unseasonably descended on Quartzsite. I mean, we did leave the Pacific NW to escape the rain.

And by cool, we meant RV cool.
The next best thing in our mind to Quartzsite was Yuma, Arizona. We scoured the internet and made several phone calls until we realized
I checked online, made a quick phone call and discovered there were five spaces left in a new RV park close to town that had WIFI.
We booked a space for the week.
